Australia Passport Photo Guidelines
The Two identical, gDepartment of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is pretty strict on acceptable and unacceptable passport photos. DFAT only approves passports for “high-quality photos that meet international standards for biometric matching”. Knowing this, we ensure you get your passport photo captured the first time correctly.
Every Ted’s Cameras passport photo follows these requirements:

ood quality colour prints that are less than six months old
Photos are produced using dye sublimation (you cannot use an inkjet printer)
No retouching or photoshopping of any kind (including removal of background, moles, wrinkles or scars)
Clear, focused image with no blur, marks or 'red eye.'
Plain white or light grey background to contrast with your face
Uniform lighting (no shadows or reflections), with appropriate exposure to show natural skin tone
Face centred and looking directly at the camera; the photo cannot be tilted in any direction
Hair must be kept off your face so that the edges of your face are visible
Eyes open, mouth closed
Neutral expression (no smiling, laughing or frowning)
Things to avoid in passport photos:

Jewellery can’t obscure any part of your face
No reflection from facial piercings, especially the area around your eyes, mouth and nose.
If you wear glasses, they cannot obscure your face, and there can’t be any reflection from the lenses.
